Just a few weeks ago Jess was let us know that Frontier Town in upstate New York which had been abandoned seemed to have some activity. Well it turns out that she was right. This past Friday the New York State DEC announced that they are now accepting reservations for the new camp ground that will open on the site this summer.

As of March 1st you can make reservations for the new Frontier Town Campground, Equestrian and Day Use Area. Located in the Adirondacks Frontier Town was a popular attraction before it closed in 1998. Left to ruin this new use for the site will give people a chance to return to the property and enjoy new amenities.

In a press release date March 1, 2019 Governor Cuomo announced that campers can now make reservations for the upcoming Summer season which will run June 28th through Columbus Day weekend. Campers are encourage to make reservation as soon as possible since demand is expected to be high for New York's newest campground.

This campground on the site of the former Frontier Town theme park will have 91 available site including facilities for you to bring your horse. Their will be a range of camping experiences available including RV  and camper sites along with tent  site that will have 3 group companion sites. their will even be electric vehicle charging stations. Unlike Jess, I never got to visit Frontier Town. I think I would have enjoyed it. It sounds like the campground will be fun. Maybe I will plan a trip there before the fall.
