Do You Want a Praying Mantis For Christmas? Look in Your Tree

Now, I'm not so upset that I bought a fake tree this year.

The other day, I was scrolling through Facebook when I saw a post from the Dutchess County Fair. Unfortunately, it wasn't the line up for performances for the 2018 fair, but it was a way more useful piece of information.

Lately, it seems that people are freaking out about a bunch of bugs in their real Christmas trees which should be expected considering you're taking a tree, from the woods and putting it in your home. But I digress.

The Dutchess County Fair posted a picture of what looked like a strange pine cone, or as they explained it, a walnut-shaped nest. I had to do a double take because I know that walnuts don't grow in a nest. (Duh.)

Anyway, if you see this walnut shaped nest in your Christmas tree, you may want to go ahead and cut it off the branch and bring it outside. 100 to 200 Praying Mantis' could be living in there.

If they hatch in your home, the likelihood is they'll die. So just bring them outside and give them the life they deserve.

No need to be scared, some believe finding a praying mantis in the home is good luck or that a relative that may have passed away is visiting you to say hello.
