If you are outdoorsy and want to help people enjoy discovering an amazing place in the Hudson Valley then you need to be come a volunteer at the Mohonk Preserve. The Preserve is located just outside the village of New Paltz in Ulster county and their mission "is to protect the Shawangunk Mountains region and inspire people to care for, enjoy and explore their natural world."

So if you enjoy the outdoor, you enjoy meeting people and you want to answer the questions they may have as they experience the Mohonk Preserve to could be the right fit to be an interpretive guide for the upcoming season. Guides greet visitors to the Preserve at the visitors center and help them by suggesting hikes, leading tours, and telling them stories about the Leuven Cabin, The Enderly Homestead and other sites of historical interest in the Preserve.

If this sounds like something you might want to do plan to come to the Volunteer Orientation event this Saturday (March 3, 2019) from 9:30 am to 12 noon. The orientations are designed to give people volunteering all the information they would need to volunteer for a particular activity. You meet with a coordinator and meet other volunteers.
