Gander Mountain has announced that all of its 126 locations will be closing.

Back in March, Gander filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and became the process of restructuring their company. Then, just a few days ago, Gander Mountain was acquired by Camping World Holdings, INC. Camping World also purchased Overton’s.

Who is Camping World? Camping World Holdings, Inc., own two companies you may have heard of: Good Sam and Camping World. The company offers new and used RVs for sale, vehicle service and maintenance. Also, more than 10,000 products and services through its retail locations and memberships clubs.

In the recent announcement, they discuss what this means for Gander Mountain.

The statement reads, “The announcement of Camping World acquiring the Gander Mountain brand means that we will continue to be a part of the specialty outdoor market. Many of our customers that depend on us for their recreational lifestyle will continue to enjoy the great products and services that have been the company’s hallmark throughout its history.”

What does that mean? Seems unclear whether or not all the Gander Mountain locations will turn into Camping World stores?

Right now, Gander Mountain is promoting a total liquidation sale. They say everything must go.  All sales will be final. Gift cards can be used up until May 18, 2017. Gander Mountain says to check back in the Fall of 2017 to get more details on what happens next.  The nearest Hudson Valley location is the Gander Mountain in Kingston.
