The Hudson Valley is known for some of its amazing hiking locations. One of the most popular locations will see some setbacks this spring.

Mount Beacon is a hotspot for local residents looking for an enjoyable day outside and those escaping the city who aren't ready for Breakneck. The problem with Mount Beacon being so popular is the fact that their parking lot at the trailhead isn't made to accommodate that many visitors.

With spring arriving in the Hudson Valley, Mount Beacon will be seeing more and more visitors. However, getting there may be difficult.

According to Scenic Hudson Valley, the parking lot will be closed sometime this April for construction. The plan is to have an expanded parking lot by early summer.

While the trailhead will still be open, Scenic Hudson Valley suggests parking "at one of numerous city lots behind Main Street and ride the G line bus to the trailhead" if you're looking for somewhere to park.

If that's too much of a hassle for you, they suggest you visit one of the nearby trails such as Storm King or Hudson Highland Gateway Park.
