Hudson Valley Orphaned Bear Jimbo Passes Away

Jimbo the bear, of Otisville, has sadly passed away.

On Wednesday morning the Orphaned Wildlife Center in Otisville announced the passing of their beloved Jimbo the bear. According to their statement, Jimbo was 24 years young.

In the statement, Jim and Susan, owners of the Orphaned Wildlife Center, explain that Jimbo had been sick for sometime now. He was fighting liver cancer. “To say that we are all heartbroken, would be an understatement. Jim and Susan especially. They are bereft, they are numb, their hearts are destroyed and they are just broken” the statement reads.

Last month we shared news that the Orphaned Wildlife Center was collecting donations to expand their enclosures. A GoFundMe account was started

If you would like to help Jim and Susan ease the pain of this loss, please visit the official Orphaned Wildlife Center Facebook page.

Jim and Susan ask for some privacy at this time before they post any more information about Jimbo’s passing.

Our thoughts are with the staff at the Wildlife Center and Jim and Susan.
